The boreal expedition was a masterclass! I had an absolutely incredible experience, truly one of the most unforgettable I’ve ever had. I was blown away by the dramatic landscapes: waterfalls, black sand beaches, dramatic basalt columns, ice caves, and glaciers that looked like something from another planet. Iceland can be “challenging weather wise” Our guides handled it flawlessly with such a professional style that it just felt like part of the adventure rather than a setback. Every day was a new discovery. I felt like an explorer rather than a tourist. The natural beauty is simply unmatched, and the sense of peace and openness is something you can’t quite put into words. I don’t have enough words to thank the “borealexpeditioniceland” team. The guides are legends, super knowledgeable about Iceland, its terrain, logistics, history and sagas. They know every corner of the island. They are friendly, professional and caring! Their vibrant spirit and passion for Iceland was contagious. They managed to turn a group of strangers into a tight-knit family. What made the trip even more special was how well-planned everything was. The accommodations were thoughtfully chosen, comfortable, minimalists, and the hot tub was a plus at the end of the day. Furthermore, traveling with the renowned international Venezuelan chef Sumito Estévez was one of a kind experience! Every dinner was a masterclass in balance, flavors and presentation. Sumito took fresh local ingredients and elevated into something deeply soul-warming. and a multi-sensory experience. In addition, to his talent, warmth, and professionalism, Sumito is a storyteller. We loved hearing about the origins of certain ingredients or the inspiration behind a specific dish. La verdad es que fue increíble hasta los últimos detalles. Nos tocó un clima muy malo, pero con toda la experiencia del equipo pudimos ser mas flexibles y adaptarnos a las condiciones y lo mejor....es que no dejamos de conocer nada. Las personas de Boreal tienen real foco en el cliente y están siempre tratando de que la estadía sea perfecta. The superb multinational team of Boreal Expedition-Iceland along with Chef Sumito Estévez and fellow travelers gifted us with pure magic amidst powder snow-blanketed terrain and ever-changing weather patterns in the vast land of extreme opposites, fire and ice. This challenge required true expertise, careful planning, and constant adaptation by the professional team. We built camaraderie swiftly. We laughed to no end. We savored comfort gourmet meals and bathed in the aromas from Sumito’s temporary kitchens (talk about swift adaptation) while he educated us about the process to make it all happen, and the ideology behind it. We enjoyed the modern, simple accommodations, some with hot tubs, and always comfortable beds. We learned about the Icelandic ritual for wellbeing, centered around the UNESCO-recognized tradition of public geothermal pools. We witnessed the Aurora Borealis dancing in the night sky with a full moon. We followed suit and danced to the beats of Latin music to say our goodbyes. We will forever treasure the memories this outdoor adventure gifted us by this very skilled team.

It was a unique and unforgettable experience. The entire team, the accommodation, and the food were all spectacular!
